The Info Sharing + Child Link training is offered for professionals working in schools or education and care services who have been nominated as Child Link Users. Please register only if you have been nominated by your organisation’s Authoriser. Professionals from other workforces can register for the course titled Child Link User Training.
Undertaking this training strengthens professional capability in information sharing practice by building confidence, improving collaboration, and enhancing engagement across the service sector, and demonstrates compliance with Child Safe Standard 8: Staff and volunteers are equipped with the knowledge, skills and awareness to keep children and young people safe through ongoing education and training.
Training is facilitated by a team of experienced educators and takes place via interactive webinar.
The first training component, Information Sharing for Education Professionals, guides participants through:
- the intent and purpose of the Information sharing and Family Violence Reforms
- how the Reforms support and enhance existing child and family wellbeing and safety responsibilities and practices
- how to apply the Reforms
- where to go for more support and resources.
The second training component, Child Link User Training, guides participants through the use of Child Link. Child Link is a digital tool that displays consolidated information about a child to authorised professionals who have responsibility for child wellbeing and safety within their organisations.
This part of training covers topics such as:
- how to log in, use and navigate Child Link
- responsibilities and obligations when using Child Link
- how Child Link can add value to professional practice
- key cultural safety considerations when using Child Link
- requirements for accessing Child Link safely and appropriately, and
- where to go for more support and resources.
Participants will complete the Information Sharing Reforms and Child Link Quiz following completion of the training. Successful completion enables activation of a User’s Child Link access.
Webinars are held online via Webex.
